"Bob's Red Mill" 13 Bean Soup
Ingredients
- soup mix
- one yellow onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- celery stalks, chopped
- 1, 15-oz can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon chili powder, depending on preference
- 2 cloves of garlic
Directions
- Wash 2 cups "Bob's Red Mill Soup Mix" then soak overnight.
- In morning, drain, rinse and bring 2-1/2 qts. water to boil with the beans and a ham hock (obviously I didn't include ham hock!).
- Reduce heat and simmer 3 to 3-1/2 hours.
- Add 1 cup copped onion, tomato sauce, 1-1/2 tsp to 1 Tbsp chili powder, according to preference, and garlic.
- Simmer 30 minutes.
- Makes about 8-10 servings.
