I arrived in the mountains with Suzal and Jeff Wednesday AM. Pam and I started snowboarding at Winter Park but there wasn't too much snow. We stayed on the same run all day! It was a beautiful day and Rich even joined us around 1. That night we enjoyed my spring rolls I made (in previous post) and had a delicious meal of spagetti from Pam and Rich's garden in Boulder. The next day we (Pam, RIch and I) went cross-country skiing on the back 9 holes of the golf course behind their house. Here, Pam and I are enjoying the warm and sunny Thanksgiving afternoon on the course!
Rich was clearly impressed with my speedy cross country skiing. Also, my super althetic sunglasses! I came prepared this year for the skiing adventures!
It was so much fun following Rich around the course (he was the trail blazer, literally!).
All we did was park along side the road beside the golf course and then got onto our skiis--Pam rented me a pair for two days--THANK YOU PAM!!
Pam always in red, and me always in pink! :)
The day after Thanksgiving we went corss country skiing in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a bit colder of a day, but the sights were well-worth it. Rich again blazed the trail and we followed along a meadow and then into the forest.
The hardest part of the trail on Friday was from the parking lot to the meadow. There was a sligth down hill, and I mean slight!, that was very difficult for me to get down. I ended up falling 3 plus times just to get to the meadow. Fortunately, once in the meadow I didn't fall at all!
Pam, Rich and I stopped for a photo in front of the mountains as we cross the meadow!
Looking so sturdy on skiis, right? Don't be fooled, I appear sturdier than I actually am!
An elk bed! Rich is an avid hunter so he was able to easiely spot tracks and even beds that elk had recently laid in! It was a really cool experience, skiing among the beautiful trees at the base of the mountain, hoping to see an elk nearby!
My adopted Colorado family--happy day after Thanksgiving!
Pam and I love little projects. She was inspired from an event we went to where the glasses had little tags you could write your name on. We decided to make festive name tags that are in Thanksgiving colors and images: leaves and turkeys. Here is Suzal's leaf-tag.
Chowing down on lots of food!! I even ate salal on Thanksgiving since Pam makes such fabulous salads!!! (just as good as Oma's!)
Pam, Suzal and I snuggling on the couch after a great big Thanksgiving feast!
Suzal and I were checking out some great music videos online as we waited for our Thanksgiving dinner guests to arrive.
It was another MARVELOUS Thanksgiving up at Rich's Ski Chalet! THANK YOU SO MUCH PAM & RICH!!! XO
